Cindy and I New years!
Happy New year to all of you! We wish you a great 2012 full of happiness.
I (Juan) don't have a way to download pictures at the moment, so for the meantime I will make the entries and later on add the pictures... they are pretty cool! Wait and see.
Cindy and I had a very exiting New Year's Eve. After walking ALL day the streets of Kuala lumpur, we headed back to a free dinner at our hostel (Classic Inn), we joined a couple from the UK and decided to walk the streets with them
New years Eve
once again looking for a good place to have a beer and watch the fireworks. Just walking through the thousands of people, loud music and lights everywhere was pretty exciting, but the night would end up being quite more so...We arrived at the Trader's Hotel KL, were the Sky Bar sits on the last story of this sky scraper, right in front of the Petrona's twin towers. (the tallest buildings in the world until 2004!) Apparently this is the place to be at New Year's, so evidently we should have expected that we would have needed to book it far in advance, and the spots were roaming $600 USD!!!!!!!! Everyone was well dressed and there was no way in hell we were going to be able to get in without reservations, money or the adequate dress code.... But our friend stands in line very confident, gets to the hosts' counter and looks at them and says. "We are here with the Versace Group, name Mark"... The lady looks at the list and answers back "Mark Winright"? He says "Yes. And guests"! So the three of us jumped in the line and walked in as if we owned the place... We were escorted to the top floor and when we arrived we found out that it was all reserved tables with the names on them.... It was going to be tough. We all thought "OK, they are going to throw us out of here". But by steering far from the named table and simply moving around the place looking natural we were lucky and were able to party in a very cool bar, right in front of the twin towers and had a blast. I was the only person in shorts, but we were able to "steal" four cushions and a seat near two jacuzzis while Cindy went looking for hats and tiaras scattered on the ground. The only down side was that when I asked for a beer and Cindy came back with a 30 dollar one That was our last drink of the night jajajajaja.
